So called because its source lies underground in a natural cave, the Darkwell was considered a magical healing spring at the height of the Kari Empire. The most wondrous things were attributed to its water. If seriously injured people were bathed directly in the spring, it is said, they were often completely healed within minutes!

Consequently, a magnificent temple complex and several spa houses were built around the spring. Nowadays, it is not even known in which foothills of the Tarkher Mountains the spring is located, or whether it still exists at all.

An expedition found the spring fouled up with shards of Arismyth, and claims that it cleansed it.
